Amnesty International UK is to host a special event with renowned American anti-death penalty campaigner and author Sister Helen Prejean on Wednesday 11 January.

The event, ?Women Against The Death Penalty?, will also feature British campaigner Karen Torley, fiancée of Scotsman Kenny Richey, currently on death row in Ohio, USA.

Spirko:Attorney general asks governor to delay execution again

Attorney General Jim Petro asked Gov. Bob Taft on Tuesday to again delay the execution of a man who says he's innocent of a 1982 slaying to allow for more DNA testing.

If granted, it would be the third time since September the lethal injection of murderer John Spirko has been postponed.

Happy New Year, Thoughts and Thank You's

Well this is the end of a very eventful year. Its a year I personally am glad to see the back of. It has been one that has been an emotional roller coaster of events, a year where I have worked on 2 books I am writing and detailing everything that has happened in the campaign and personally. I might end up with an encyclopedia:) I find writing theraputic so everything gets tossed in. God help whoever has to edit it. haha.

OTTAWA - The family of the man who admitted to drowning his 13-month-old son wants treatment, not vengeance.

Relatives of 36-year-old Michael G. Luebrecht don't want to see him to face a possible death penalty for his actions May 23 against Joel Michael Luebrecht, said the child's mother and the suspect's wife, Amy Luebrecht.
