This thread discusses the Content article: Richey nervous about going before cameras
All those connected with the investigation, trial and conviction of Kenny Richey who survive, are twenty years older and hopefully wiser than in 1987. Sadly this does not appear the case regarding Kenny Richey, from his comments in the Greg Sowinski article in the Lima News, " Richey nervous about going in front of the cameras". He seems to have been re-infected with "foot-in-mouth" disease. The guy seems determined to devalue eveything that his supporters have done to further his case for a retrial. The Greg Sowinski piece displays Richey at his self-destructing best. He certainly knows how to grasp defeat from the victory of obtaining a retrial by using his acknowledged weapon of choice, his mouth! We have a saying in Scotland that he probably never considers, ”before opening your mouth to speak, first engage your brain”. With references to his son and ex-wife who have been, with his siblings and father Jim Richey, conspicuous by their absence from media comment, Kenny paints a picture of some-one totally engrossed by self. The fact is that the 2005 retry or release order was the catalyst to the "unification" of the family, based on the potential of compensatory income. This man, whom I believe to be innocent of the charges for which he was given the death penalty, has yet again resorted to behaviour that tests the resolve of those who support his cause. Why must he alienate possible jurors, co-inmates of Putnam County jail and generally make an ass of himself. He has been advised as to how he should behave regarding media and obviously chooses to ignore that advice, but if he thinks that part of my support for his innocence encompasses liposuction, make-overs and perhaps ordering the media photographers to Vaseline their lenses to soften the focus and make him look better, then he is sadly mistaken. In place of cosmetic surgery I would support the application of a muzzle to help prevent further self-harm. The application of a pertinent Scottish quote that Richey may be unaware of, may prove to be effective, "Shut yer mooth Kenny an' gie yer erse a chance!" If he doesn't, he'll be left with his dad Jim Richey, his son an ex-wife Wendy and his brothers in America to carry on the fight that they have dis-associated themselves from. Perhaps they will buy him a kilt and a glengarry for the bail hearing, After all this garbage, a plea of insanity to the charge of consideration of supporters could undoubtedly be justified.
