This thread discusses the Content article: The Richey case: Little girl, not Scot, is true victim, father says

I feel for the Collins family in many ways.

Obviously Basinger knew that Robert Collins would not be beneficial to his case and theory which meant he kept him on the witness list but did not call him to the stand. Meaning he was denied hearing and seeing for himself what was going on.

The Collins family were lied to by the prosecution for all these years. The lies have been allowed to continue and so their anger is understandable. But they are being angry at the wrong person. Kenny Richey did not set the fire which killed little Cynthia Collins by smoke inhalation. The fire was accidental as ALL scientific evidence shows.
The charges regarding Arson where totally dropped because they knew it was not arson.

the lies Basinger told in this case have damaged not just Kenny Richey but also these poor people who are grieving for the loss of this little girl.

Basinger wanted a win in his final case before he hung up his DA hat and put on his judges robes. He did not care who he hurt in the process of getting what he wanted. He did not care who he used either and he used this families pain and that little girl's tragic death for his own ends.

Hopefully Robert Collins will begin to see through the lies and see what really happened here.

I wish Robert Collins and his sister Mrs Brinkley peace in their lives.

The fantasy theory of how Richey allegedly started the fire in which the tragic Cynthia Collinc died, has been effectively consigned to to the bin of dodgy "evidence" that was instrumental in the plea-deal which saved the faces, reputaions and dollars in the state of Ohio. Valerie Brinkley's assertion that Richey had "fooled nobody" was uncannily accurate. But everyone WAS FOOLED by the distorted and predjudicial prosecution carried out by Randall Basinger and the death of little Cynthia was cynically used by this man motivated by personal advancement, no matter who suffered. The Collins family may hopefully realise one day that Basinger 's unchallenged theory of how the fire was started was nothing more than an empty excuse to avoid stating the obvious that Cynthia's death was an accidental occurrence. The Collins family were denied justice from the moment that the fire-marshall's report indicating accidental cause was rejected in favour of Basinger's "preferred cause" of arson. Arson and Murder were deleted from the charges because they could not have been proved, but the real villains are still in power in Putnam County, desecrating the memory and death of a child and have still not proved how or what or who started the fire. The Collins family have every right to be angry and Richey's obnoxious and arrogant behaviour since his release have done nothing to convince anyone that he is a worthwhile individual.

It is clearly a case with very few winners and a lot of victims.

That, I think, is a very strong argument against the DP.
