This thread discusses the Content article: Kenny is being freed

I am so glad that Kenny will be home in Scotland for Xmas, but I am very very disappointed as I listened to and believed Kenny when for all these years he has been saying that he WOULD NEVER take a plea deal.
It makes me think that maybe he should have taken the plea deal offered 21 years ago. It also makes me doubt his innocence.
I can understand that mistakes are made, and Ken Parsigan must have advised him to take the deal, but we are told he has a new high flyer of a lawyer and he will see that with all the evidence the State has, or DOES NOT have, he will gain Kenny his freedom.
I must admit, after believing in Kenny for almost 9 years I feel let down right now. Really let down. I wanted what Kenny was saying he was going to do all along and show us all that he could prove his innocence, and by taking the plea bargain, he has let people down, a lot of people.
These are my personal opinions and do not reflect on any other person

Hi
Yes, I'm a little surprised to say the least that he took a plea bargain. Could it be that he's in worse health than we've been told? Also, what does 'no contest' actually mean? Of course I'm pleased that he'll be free tomorrow. I just would have liked to see him formally cleared and the authorities made to look like the vindictive fools I believe them to be - also it would have been recognition of Karen's heroic efforts.

Love,
Cheryl

This is such brilliant news! Good for you Kenny

He isnt letting anyone down, he needs to get the hell out of there and come back to the UK. We all know he is innocent, he is completely doing the right thing.

Yay!

Well I must admin I am surprised too.

OTOH I do not feel like having an opinion about him taking the plea.
True, it is a change of heart, and I would have loved seeing the facts getting rubbed up certain noses -- just as I would have loved having him cleared in no uncertain terms.

It is not my life and fate that's on the line though, and MY health is pretty good thank you. So instead I will just wish Kenny luck and hope the rest of his life will be long and happy.
Every time I get a reason to reevaluate some of my preconceptions, it makes me that much younger and more vital.

I feel the same as you, my opinion on the plea is really moot as its not my life on the line. The news is fresh, and until we all can digest this reality of Kenny's freedom, I will hold off on any opinion on this plea.

Good luck to him and what makes this a great day is that he finally after 2 decades will spend his Christmas with his mom.

Of course at the moment, please leave your thoughts, Im sure when Kenny gets settled and has the time, he will want to come here to this site and read it from top to bottom.

I assume that Karen when she is able will come here and answer the many questions supporters shall have about the current news of the case.

Again, Good On You Kenny!

The key remains, we have to believe in the cause of justice, whether it be Kenny or someone else.

It is trusting in the cause that Kenny is finally walking out to freedom. That his life is spared is Victory for him and for us all. Had we (Kenny and us) not collectively fought for his cause, he would not be here today - period.

Let us not now judge him, too. Let us drink a toast to Kenny and give ourselves a big hug.

And, remember....if ever there was doubt, we know there truly are guardian Angels among us.

Kenny's personal Angel is named Karen Torley. When he gets back to Scotland, he should kneel down and give thanks to the one person he owes the largest debt -his freedom.

O.k. now on to the next cause!!!
