Injustice in Ohio
Jason Getsy: Please sign petition and write a letter Sixth circuit, three judge panel, in Cincinnati originally overturned Jason Getsy's death sentence.
- The whole court, 13 judge panel, en banc reinstated his death sentence. It was a split court decision based on party lines and reinstated by ONE vote.
- Every court that Jason Getsy has been through found John Santine, who was found not guilty of hiring Jason Getsy but guilty of murder, more culpable than Jason Getsy, yet Jason Getsy is the ONLY one out of four individuals who received the death penalty. Even the Ohio Supreme Court, although they let his death sentence stand, expressed its dismay about the disproportionate nature of these inconsistent results.
- Santine, a man in his 40s, threatened/coerced/scared young teens into committing the crime however, Santine gets 20 years, the other two are offered and accept plea deals and Jason Getsy is the ONLY ONE who received the death penalty.
- Remove any of the three young men from the crime and the crime still happens, remove Santine and there is no crime but again, Getsy is the one sitting on death row.
- Jason Getsy's primary death specification was the "FOR HIRE" aspect however, Santine was found not guilty of hiring so WHY did Getsy get the death penalty moreover, how could the sentence of death stand once Santine was found not guilty of hiring?
- Charles Serafino himself, the victims son, through written correspondence he initiated invited/encouraged Jason to begin attending Bible studies whereupon Mr. Getsy accepted God's gift of salvation and has been consistently serving God every since that time.
- Charles Serafino has also expressed his forgiveness of Mr. Getsy through written correspondence.
- Jason Getsy has continually expressed since remorse for his involvement in the crime.
- He has received his GED since being incarcerated, he plays music for the Bible studies as well as teaches music to those interested in learning.
- Jason Getsy would be the perfect candidate for any Bible based initiates and would be willing to encourage and impart wisdom he has attained since being incarcerated.
