Ohio Supreme Court rejects bid to delay penalty for 1984 murder

COLUMBUS - Drug addiction and a troubled childhood can't explain the brutal 1984 slaying of a 23-year-old Toledo man, the Ohio Parole Board said yesterday as it recommended that Gov. Bob Taft not stop the execution of Joseph Lewis Clark.

CINCINNATI -- A federal appellate court has thrown out the conviction of a death row inmate in a 1985 murder.
A three-judge panel of the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Cincinnati police improperly questioned Robert VanHook, violating his right to have an attorney present.
Asking that he commutes the death sentences of Joseph Clark who is due to die on 2 May 2006, and Jeff Hill who is due to die on 15th June 2006
