It will become public knowledge from tomorrow that I am getting engaged. This is a private, happy, family time for me and my family.
A few months ago, Frank and I, who had been married previously began to get close again and we fell in love.
We decided to make a new life together just recently. We are very happy and are looking towards a long and happy future together as a couple and as a family.
Only our friends and family have known about this and they all are delighted for us.
What we had hoped would be a private and personal thing, has been anonymously "leaked" to the media. Yet again I have been "doorstepped" by a tabloid newspaper journalist who advised me that he had been informed by " a friend of the family" of details relating to my engagement. I never wanted my personal life to be in the media but it is and I appear to have little control of what they write.
My work against the death penalty and fighting injustice will continue as it always has. It is something I have a deep belief in. I have the full support of Frank and my family on this.
