DEATH Row Scot Kenny Richey has asked the US Supreme Court to reconsider its decision upholding his conviction and sentence, his lawyer said yesterday. Richey's current lawyer, the Boston-based Kenneth Parsigian, said statements in the opinion issued by the Supreme Court were inconsistent with the court record, or did not consider the complete record. He said he filed the motion for a rehearing late yesterday.
A PLAY about Death Row Scot Kenny Richey is to be performed live on radio exactly a year after he was granted an appeal.
Based on a letter written by Richey himself, as well as court transcripts of the original trial, along with the recently published book by Richey's brother, the play hopes to attract more support for Richey's case around the world.

A SCOTTISH human rights group today said it welcomed the intervention of Foreign Secretary Jack Straw in the appeal of death row Scot Kenny Richey.
Amnesty International Scotland said there was "serious doubt" over the conviction. At the end of last month Mr Richey suffered a set-back as the US Supreme Court instructed the Sixth Circuit Federal Court of Appeal to reconsider its decision to overturn his death penalty conviction.
