Kenny called tonight as he usually does and he had some news to tell me.
He told me that his dad had managed to raise over a million dollars towards his bail.
He said that someone had given over $900,000 and that with the cost of his dad and brother's houses at $300,000, they had enough money. Over $1.2 million in fact. However, on the downside is the fact that if they gave the money to the bondsman, then the whole million would not be recoverable. So they have had to give back the generous donation. And give up on the idea of selling their homes since they wouldn't get the money back.
What a generous gesture this was from the person who donated the money.
So Kenny will remain in County Jail till his trial after all.
Kenny is in pretty good spirits though, despite yet another set back. He knows that the focus has to be on getting prepared for his trial and then for coming home to Scotland as soon as he can.
