9:35 a.m., Dec. 20 - Kenneth Richey won't be heading for freedom today, as the man charged in a 2-year-old's death in a fire headed for a hospital instead.
A woman answering the telephone at the Putnam County Clerk of Courts office read a statement that Richey was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center today. The change of plea hearing was postponed until Jan. 8.
Richey had a change of plea hearing scheduled for noon today that could have had him heading back to Scotland for the first time since the 1986 death of Cynthia Collins.
