Kenny update
Hi there
I have spoken with Kenny and he has asked me to thank all of you for the continued support you have given him, me and the campaign.
He told me that no one could ever fault me for all the work I have done over the years on his behalf. Which was nice of him.
My old next door neighbour visited me today and she got to say hello to him too, which pleased them both. Kenny loves to hear the accents of Scotland. He misses it so much.
He says he knows he should be happy, but right now after the initial excitement, there comes that feeling of dejavu and he is a little flat.
We spoke about the State appealing and how long it would approximately take. We both know how this works since this is the second time we have been through his conviction being overturned.
He is looking forward to buying a house here in Scotland and also a car. Though I had to remind him that he needs to pass his driving test over here first. Which he is looking forward to. I suppose I should send him a theory test book and highway code::) so he can practice.
He asked how the campaign was going and I told him the latest news and about all the news articles there had been and what media I had spoken to.
I passed on all the messages of support from people who have emailed me and also him, and told him he should expect a lot of mail from supporters worldwide.
He wants people to know he appreciates the emails he gets sent and to remind people that he has no access to a computer, so he cannot personally respond to them. But he knows I respond to them all on his behalf and give people his address so they can write him themselves.
He asked that I get in touch with the experts who are involved in supporting his case, just in case there is a retrial. He knows the likely hood of a retrial is not high, which disappoints him a lot. He wants this retrial so badly so that he can prove his innocence to the world.
He said he won't believe he is free until he is back home.
I know he is under a lot of pressure, which is hard for him to cope with. Few people could possibly understand how he is feeling. He knows he will need a lot of help and support when he comes home. Which will of course be made available to him.
In all, we have a very different Kenny from the last time he had his sentence over turned. One who is not going to hope too much, but who will wait and see what happens next.
Once again thank you all for the love and support.
Love Karenx
