Kenny Richey
Kenny Update Kenny is doing well and in pretty good spirits. Cracking jokes about things and wihing he was somewhere else instead of death row all at once. But he is excited about the Amnesty Event this coming Wednesday where I will be speaking alongside Sister Helen.
Kenny was at hospital for some more tests. This time its the old prostate problem I told him he had for years. When will the man ever listen to me:) You can imagine the gags about the examination he had to give:)
Kenny will have his own recorded message for the Amnesty event, which will be nice. Last time I attended an event like this he called me and ended up speaking to about 50 students and heard 400 students chant his name out. Which totally amazed him.
He is happy that the campaign has continued to grow and get even stronger than it has ever been. This makes him know that people do still care.
The A and E documentary Playing with Fire was aired again in Canada and USA also, which means I have been getting more emails for Kenny and for the campaign which is excellent. I read some of them out to him but will print the rest and send them into him.
This month will be a busy month for the campaign with the Amnesty Event and also with the Radio Play on Kenny's case which will be live online and on radio here in UK on the 25th January. I will post a link to this nearer the time.
Kenny recieved many Christmas cards from all over the world and letters of support. This as ever delighted him so much. He is sorry he cannot respond to people due to lack of funds for postage. But he does love to get letters and cards so please don't stop sending him even a small note. It really does help to keep his spirits up at this difficult time of year.
I know I have asked for donations a lot in the past but the campaign simply cannot exist as it does without them. We both appreciate everyone who has ever sent a donation towards phone costs, which is a vital part of keeping the campaign alive and also keeping Kenny in touch with me and his family back home and keep his spirits up too. Without these calls this would not happen. And right he cannot call for the next while which is upsetting him deeply.
I have a lot of practical help from people for which I am so grateful for because for one woman to do it all on her own it gets too much.
The financial side has always been a bugbear sadly because many people who support these kinds of campaigns are in the same financial boat that I am in. But donations are vital.
I must sound like a broken down record on this one and if I do I am sorry but if you CAN and only if you can help in any small way please send donations via paypal to "This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it!"
Kenny sends his love and best wishes to everyone and of course his deepest thanks and gratitude to you all for standing by his side for so many years and never giving up on him.
Take care
Karen and Kenny
