Enough is Enough!

Saturday, 17 June 2006

This is another example of interference by the Richey family in the United States. I have had to endure in private, similar allegations from them since after January 25th 2005 when the Sixth Circuit Appeal court ordered that Kenny be retried or released within 90 days. I chose to keep silent about them and did so to try and protect Kenny from negative fall-out. By making such a statement to the media, bereft of fact but laden with scurrilous allegations, the Richey family have gone too far. They express the desire to start their own campaign fund " so that we can make sure that he is getting regular payments so he can call his lawyer and other people involved in the campaign." With this in mind and based on professional advice I am issuing the following statement.

"For over a decade I have fought to help establish Kenny Richey's innocence and have him set free by the state of Ohio, because I believed he was wrongly convicted. I still hold that belief. But if Kenny and his family want to take control of the campaign, as they stated in a recent press article I am certainly not going to stand in their way.
I remain 100% committed to justice and to freeing Kenny Richey and others like him, but as of today I am resigning as campaign manager to allow Kenny and his family to manage it as they see fit.
Of course, I will be happy to assist during the transition and beyond if they want my help. We all share the same goal- to see justice done and Kenny a free man."
