DEATH row Scot Kenny Richey may be home by 1 September, his fiancée told The Scotsman last night.
Karen Torley said she was "delighted" that a US district court judge yesterday responded to legal pressure from Mr Richey's lawyers to sign a writ that would finally set the "90 day" clock ticking for the state to retry or release him. His murder conviction was overturned in January but his release has been subjected to a series of legal delays.
Mr Richey's lawyers had filed a motion on Thursday urging action.
